Windlass

I replaced the solenoid for the windlass thinking it was stuck. The windlass worked when I installed it but the next day it didn’t. The solenoid is very hot.
The switch seems to be working OK.
Looking for ideas on what’s going on.

I have no idea, but anytime I have a electrical connection that is warm/hot I start looking for corrosion... Which equals resistance and produces heat, next is FIRE!!!

Instead of guessing and parts changing get a multimeter and see if the solenoid is getting voltage to the coil and go from there.

Sounds like a bad motor if all connections are good, I had to replace mine

did you use right gauge wire smaller wire will get hot under load
