Windlass on Sea Ray 360 Aft

I m thinking about adding a windlass to my Sea Ray 360 Aft. The boat did not come with one. Trying to decide on either a horizontal or a vertical. I am looking at a vertical model that I can get with or without the capstan on top or without. There is no difference to speak of in price. Just not sure if I need the capstan or not. Honestly not sure of its function. Also since I have plenty of room below in the chain locker wouldn't I be well suited to go with the vertical? Both windlass that I am looking at I have pictured below. Neither one is free fall. But I usually anchor in 30 ft of water or less.

I have the AnchorLift without the capstan installed on my AJ last year and it works just fine. I am a little short on depth in my anchor locker, but with a bit of technique I can make it work just fine. My wife loves it. All she has to do now is go up to the front and kick it off when deploying. Keep the rode tight in the gypsy and no problem. If you run all chain, that would be even better. I only anchor in 20 - 30 ft or less as well.

Looks great. When you say she has to kick it off what do you mean? How do you like that style of anchor? Does set well and stay hooked?
