Windlass cockpit switch

My windlass cockpit switch does not work although the foot pedals do. Any suggestions, might it just be the connections to the cockpit switch or are there other possible causes?

Happen to mine last year, turn out the terminal broke off, i bought new amp breaker. Look at your amp breaker and see if connection are good or broke off.

good news - windlass motor is good!
bad news - you still have problem

most likely - relay inside rope locker failed or some wires came off. depends on type used there could be 3 or 4 heavy cables connected to relay and 3 thin wires. when "middle" thin wire is disconnected, windlass will not work from helm.
you could try to tap relay with screwdriver handle to see if it stuck and if comes back to "life" replace asap because it will happen again. also check for loose wires under helm switch or bad fuse for power for control (up/down) switch.
