Wind sheild trim????

Does anyone know where to get the black wind sheild trim for my 83 srv225cc, i just cant seem to find it any where:smt021 rob

I need to replace some on my '81 SR245 as well. The only thing I've come up with is:

I haven't had the time to actually look and see if any of these will fit (or forced to fit), but I'm thinking that this stuff is so common that somebody's gotta have it.

Are you talking about the plastic trim between the windshield and the deck of the boat or the wide plastic that covers the screws?

Go to your local rubber supply business and tell them you want black foam rubber. It's probably 1" x 1.5" wide. Cut it to length and fit it into the channel. This stuff shrinks a lot. I replaced the foam trim in my windshield years ago on a 290DA. it had shrunk about 2-3" per side of the windshield.

I just checked and CVS doesn't carry it. They said Trojan doesn't make the stuff.......:grin:

that is the plastic strip i need for my 87's windshield. Does anyone know where i can get it?

You can try either one of these guys. They are both boat windshield manufacturers.

I would measure the width of your opening as this stuff comes in varying sizes.

What you guys have to do is to get in touch with Taylor as they have all the gasket and trim you may need for your vintage windshields. And, believe me, the result is amazing!
I took pictures of my gaskets and put measurements on them. I got back the original Taylor’s drawings so that I could compare them with the real thing and order replacement.
