I have a 2003 Sea Ray 390 MY with the Maptech Sea Ray Navigator. I noticed on the back of the monitor there is a VGA 15-pin port and a S-video socket. Would either of these support a video camera? I'm thinking of installing a camera on the stern of the boat to keep on eye on the dinghy while underway. I also have a Raymarine RL80C Pathfinder Plus for a chartplotter. Yeah, I am in need of some electronics upgrades!

I don't know, but you can buy a cheap camera and find out. However that's likely throwing bad money at it.

For a quick fix, just buy a cheap back up camera until you decide on your electronics as there are better and easier ways once you have more modern equipment

You would need to get an RCA to s-video adapter. But on the Navigator, I don't think there is software to support the camera or a way to launch it if there is. Is there a link for that in the menu? Otherwise you would need to find a way to load software and drivers for the camera and a way to launch it.

Might be time to upgrade to a new MFD that supports camera's like Garmin does.
