Will a 3 blade prop do much for my dinghy
I have a new (2012) Baltic 8.5' dinghy with a 1984 Mercury 4.5 hp outboard with the standard 2 blade prop. The motor is in excellent condition and runs like a champ. I am about 200lb.+- and the thing will not get on plane very easy with me in it by my self. Once it does get up, it will run about 15 mph. When my wife (120lb) gets in it and it pops right up and will top out at 17 mph by gps.
If I put a new 3 blade prop on it, will that increase the performance and ability to get up on plane with a heavier load.
