Hello All,
I'm going to put wifi on my 500 Sundancer, we do a lot of traveling and get sick of dealing with the Tv's not getting a satelite signal, bad wifi in the transient slip. What I'm thinking s to change all of the Tv's to smart Tv's, subscribe to Netflix, have a better wifi signal than the "free wifi" that doesn't work.

I need to to know if anyone has any first hand experience with a marine wifi system and what the best bang for the buck is.

Thanks for for help,
Bow Tie

If you google "marine wifi booster" you'll get tons of useful links. From the time I got mine (Wave wifi Rogue), there are several different options that became available. So, you'll have to review them to determine what meets your needs.

In the nutshell, there are two primary features/components. An antenna booster with an access point (that's what my rogue is) and access point with built-in router. For example: http://www.peplink.com/products/pepwave-surf-on-the-go/

I've picked this product and used it for few years: http://wavewifi.com/products/rogue-pro/

I didn't care about built-in router, but my focus was the greatest wifi range. Although I've been satisfied with my setup, I still wish it had greater range. The advertised 7-10 miles is not realistic.

Hope this helps a little.

Anytime! If you have any specific questions, just ask away.

Hi all, thanks for your input regarding Wifi. I installed a complete system with a Omni directional 8db antenna, groove52, high speed router. All purchased from Island Time Wifi, Ft launder dale, Fl. The install was a walk in the park, the router is hidden inside a cabinet, the unit works perfectly! The owner / designer of the system is a boater, knows his stuff and "walked" my wife through the setup which took about 20 minutes. Highly recommend this unit and the company! I have 4 Tv's I'm changing to smart Tv's next week and maybe I'll be able to watch Netflix and use my iPad. Prior to this install the marina wifi was slower than dial up!
ps. The whole thing was $350 complete! Finally, a real deal without a comma in it!

Thanks again,
Bow Tie

Bowtie, LOL, comma's in numbers are a reason to raise eyebrows LOL glad your all set with your system.

Alex I use Pepwave rogue too and like its performance. Next year I'll upgrade the antenna I have on the arch which as been ok but the tech has come pretty far since I put it on so gotta stay with the times.
