4.3 TKS, Alpha I
This past weekend, I winterized my 4.3L Alpha. So after I changed the oil and lower unit lube, I ran stabilizer in the tank for about 15 minutes to be sure it got into the carb.

After turning off the engine, I immediately raised the boat onto the lift and removed the 5 blue drain plugs (2 block, 2 manifold, 1 lower hose). The water drained strong. After the water stopped dripping out, I reinstalled the drain plugs and removed the large hose at the thermostat housing (the one that goes down to the water pump. I then proceeded to pour about 2 gallons of the pink stuff into the hose until it came out of the thermostat housing (where I had just removed the hose. Seems like I completely filled the block with A/F.

Well that seemed about perfect until later that night I started to wonder, how did the pink stuff make it out of the thermostat housing if the thermostat was still installed in there? Is it possible that the thermostat was still open after 15-20 minutes of draining and filling?
