why doesn't the 185 sport have a voltmeter

IMHO - Since it is an entry level boat they are trying to keep the price down as low as they can.

yeah it makes sense on certain items but IMO, a voltmeter shouldn't be one of them. My 93 entry level 3.0L stingray had one.

It just had occurred to me though there is actually not a ton of space to add one in the dash, the optional depth finder takes up the place. I don't know if it was an oversight on behalf of the engineers or done on purpose like you said to save $50.

Hi All, I have a 2002 185 sport with a 4.3l MPI and I have a volt meter on the dash. Maybe the newer models don't have it?

My 2004 185 does not have a volt meter but my Humminbird does, there is a spot in the dash where the depth gauge would go that I could put one. I think that my gps also will show voltage if I change screens. I installed the Humminbird fishfinder/depthfinder and when I set it up I put the voltage on the screen. Chuck is probably right, that saves the mfg some money, the parts and labor times how many boats without.
