Fit and finish mostly. A friend and I wanted to satisfy ourselves as to the difference. The finish in the cabin and cockpit was different. The cabinets were finished better on Sea Ray and better boats. The storage areas were nicely done. Inside cabinets, storage areas, etc were finished with pressure laminate.
The Bayliner and other value brands didn't finish some of the storage areas. When we opened some panels there was just bits of carpet glued to the fiberglass or simply raw fiberglass. A lot of the access panels that were throughout the Byliner were held in place with velco but were screwed into place on the SeaRay and on better brands.
Last time I checked, the Bayliner warranty didn't cover leaks into the cabin and I don't know if that's changed. So if your headliner or carpet is getting wet, that's the buyer's problem. They don't warranty that because they don't want to pay for the repairs. And they must know that there's a problem because they specifically exclude that coverage item.
It's the details. It's always the details.
