Just wondering who is attending the Sea Ray Factory House and Demo Day tomorrow (8/27/10) at the world headquarters in Knoxville? The admiral and I and our son will be there and I was wondering if anyone else is. Has anyone been to one before?

I was going to be there, but will not be able to make it. It has been two years since I've made it to the factory.

Matthew,

How did the Demo Day go? Any new boats??

Chuck

I heard from my local SR dealer a new Sedan Bridge design is coming out but not sure if it's for 2011 or after.

The SeaRay open house was very nice. They had an excellent lunch for all that attended. The factory tours was very interesting. Bayliner boats are being build on a line beside the SeaRay boats but they are not the same boats. The Bayliners are manufactured to Bayliner specs. The SeaRay hulls are much thicker and you can see the difference by walking thru the factory. The workers seem to dedicated to producing quality boats for both companies but the SeaRay is certainly a better boat. The employees are thankful that they have a job and want to produce a quality boat.
There were SeaRays from the 185 to a 47 Sedan Bridge in the water in front of the SeaRay world headquarters building.
For me it was well worth the trip to Knoxville.

No way! Bayliners being built next to Sea Rays? Sea Ray hulls thicker? I just don't believe it!

Really- it does sounds like fun Larry. That overview very accurately describes just what I experienced. I wish they would have had a bunch of boats for demo though when I went.

Yes Jason you would have enjoyed the boats in the water. Matt Sellhorst and I rode on the new 200 Sundeck and a 350 Sundancer. Also got to check out a 370 Sundancer with the Axius controls. That makes a large boat as easy to dock as a paddle boat. He also took us for a ride up the Tenn. river on the 370. It had twin 496 HO engines. It would really move some water going up the river. He took us far enough up the river that we had a good view of the buildings in downtown Knoxville. That would be a good one for your next upgrade. It would make it easy to dock at your slip. Wish you could have made the trip with us.
