Who owns the fastest Sea Ray

Your kidding I hope.

On the trailer!!! Nobody said it had to be on the water??

What's confusing that my GPS indicates a maximum speed of 90 mph was obtained. I KNOW I've never been 90 on the water or trailer! I can't figure out how it happened!! Must have been some kind of satellite glitch or something!

I had my tug up to 51.9 mph by GPS once or twice or a bunch of times.
But she loves to run at 38 mph thats the sweet spot for her.

Almost 52 mph for an 87 300 with stock twin 260s? And you cruise at 38? Hmmmmm........

Not that I have to prove anything to you. But here it is.

I was cruising around the lake at ...

Didn't you say you top out at 51.9?

And which Sea Ray do you have? The 87 300 has an 11' beam. You have a "30 footer" with a 10' beam? Is that a 270?

Wayne's is a 270. With Twin 350's they will definitely run around 50.

I always like to see the BS flag. But come on, with some of the other numbers being thrown around in this thread, Wayne looks like Honest Abe. :)

51.9 on a 87 270 with twin 350s still sounds like a stretch, but possible. It sounded like Wayne's boat was a 300 --- When he said he tops out at 51.9 on a stock 30, a big BS pie smacked me right in the face. Now that I know he has a 270, I wouldn't have called him out on it.

No hard feelings, Wayne!!

Still, a 31 foot with 520 hp going 50+? What does that thing weigh? I'm only seeing 42 or so with my 31 with 520 hp.

My best non GPS was in Nov just me light fuel wind chop about 70 degrees. 51mph.

hey DaNinja, just saw your post. You have the same boat as me. My speedo tells me low 40's but I'm going to GPS it this weekend. You got anything special in it? 4bbl?, Prop?

An 87 270 with twin 260hp/350cid probabaly weighs around 8000 in the water. Typical top speed was around 45 mph.

Your 290 is heavier, and I would say 42 mph is about right with a normal load (at least 1/2 tank, some gear, and a few people).

My 1990 270 goes 37mph with a stock 454 on gps.....feels faster than it is but moves right along for passing a slower boat. I would have liked to try twin 350's or upgrade to 6.2's....I could only find 4.3's for sale and they run 42mph., Mike.

Still not me, but I'm pretty happy with the last run-up of the season here :)

It wasn't a Sea Ray, but I had a Dynasty 210 w/350 Magnum & 22p prop in my younger days.
It would hit 57mph by the speedo trimmed out consistently.
Once I raced a guy in a 32' Baja w/twin 250 O/Bs, he passed me like I was dragging a 100lb anchor....

Got a 1991 31SS twin 540's 600hp each has done 74 gps, can always get 70-72mph and cruises at 50 @3150rpm.

My friends 1989 22ft Pachanga with a 496HO Bravo1 runs a bit over 80mph and seems stable but I'm sure not that stable. Too fast for me in a 22fter. A 32ft pachanga would be nice with twin 496HO motors I bet, Mike.

Funny thing happend when I pulled the boat out last week. I normally keep track of my average speed and all my fuel consimption data, so I caught this....wish I had a photo to back it up.

Average speed was 72 mph. Top speed at 3600ish RPM's was 210 mph. Obviously a GPS glitch occured while I was out making sure the Stabil reached the engines. Or was it?

:wow::wow::wow: No wonder you turned the world upside down at WOT!!!:wow::wow::wow:
