Who owns the fastest Sea Ray

:lol::smt043
Mine goes 60, I'm not sure why smartcraft is goofed up because it reads GPH instead of MPH. Oh wait, nevermind.........

Why is it when I go WOT, I have the urge to open my wallet and throw five dollar bills over the side every minute?

I do! 320 sundancer with 496's 375 hp and b3 drives----54 wot.

I do, 55-58 WOT at 4000' foot elevation. 290 sundancer twin 6.2 with B3's and procharger superchargers. 425 hp each engine.

Our 'prop shop' guy had a 22' Pachanga with a sweet stroker small-block... nose coned drive and all the goodies... managed a scorchin' 80mph in ideal conditions... borderlining on out of control though...

SeaRay Jim mentioned early would take everyone. Although, I'd run my 310 against the 320 with the same motors..... And, I would have loved to run my 260 against the 280 up at Powell.

By the way, Great Escape, nice set up. Who did the work? What gears and props are you running?

35 knots WOT (40mph) seen on GPS with miserable single diesel 219"cube and 285HP

My 2004 "BLEW BAYOU" 320DA WITH 2X496'S AND B3;S GOES 52MPH ON THE GPS. i THINK WHEN YOU DO THE CALCULATION OF WEIGHT TO SPEED YOU WILL AGREE MINE IS THE FASTEST----15000 LBS GOING 52 MPH FULLY TRIMED AND SITTING ON THE LAST THREE FEET OF THE BOTTOM----WOW, IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER.

Funny, and not so funny Scott but right on the money.

I have nowhere near the fastest SeaRay.. 43mph (which is fine, since our lake's limit is 40)

Curious what you're getting with the 496's in your 310... I bet she really moves.

Anybody out there faster than 42 mph with a 19,000 pound boat?

HIRISC,
My 310 will run honestly in the very low 50's at 1200 feet fully loaded with numerous passengers.

My 260 was a good bit faster, and routinely beat many "60mph" sport boats.

I really did not build the 260 or buy the 310 for top speed (both could be propped to do a little better). The idea was to get on plane easily and maintain a strong cruise at low rpm.

I mispoke in the previous post.... I would like to have run my 260 against the 290 with the blowers. I'd even give it a shot with my 310. I'm still curious who did the work and what gears and props are on that 290.

Please call me ref prochargers. I have been looking at them for years and all questions I ask have mixed review answers.

TIA

That's about what I thought she'd run: 10mph+ better than the 5.7's.

I was pleasantly surprised at what our top end was.. plenty of speed for a city-lake boat. :)

I had my tug up to 51.9 mph by GPS once or twice or a bunch of times.
But she loves to run at 38 mph thats the sweet spot for her.

During a lake test last year, my shop guys said they had my lil' Ray up near 60 according to the chase boat with GPS.

Last fall, I was testing a prop on the deckboat. It was during the week and it was calm water on LOTO. I was running about 55mph and I noticed a mid-size Ray keeping pace with me. We were on opposite sides of the channel, but maybe a 310 Sundancer?

I was pushing proudly until we hit the typical LOTO "washing machine".
Once it got rough, I had nothing for him.

Google procharger superchargers and go to the marine applications. Have run them since 2002 and no problems whatsoever. Just change the oil every 40-50 hrs. I could probably increase speed with different props, however the current set-up is great out of the hole with 8 adults, water, gas, food etc. Would do it again in a minute.
