who here is NOT bothered by this?

What ever happened to due process... you know, if passed, this will become a political tool of epic proportions. Companies will be fleeing markets if not our shores.

What's that great sucking sound I hear? Must be the dems at work again.

Published today in the Wall Street Journal

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and his colleagues worked the phones to try to line up support on Wall Street for the plan announced Monday. They told executives they don't favor using the tax code to retroactively penalize specific individuals who had received bonuses, according to people familiar with the calls. They asked officials to sign on "in pencil, not ink," and to "validate" or "express support" for the plan, these people say.

Some bankers say they turned the conversations into complaints about the antibonus crusade consuming Capitol Hill. Some have begun "slow-walking" the information previously sought by Treasury for stress-testing financial institutions, three bankers say, and considered seeking capital from hedge funds and private-equity funds so they could return federal bailout money, thereby escaping federal restrictions.[emphasis added - FC3]

"U.S. seeks expanded power to seize firms"?

let 'er rip!

I am bothered, I also wonder why the media (yeh right) has not lambasted Congress on the auto pay raise measure they packed into one of the bills?

I realy liked the way the author off this article slanted his findings, Note he is using "Median" and not "Mean" (average) in his diatribe

Latinos, blacks losing jobs at a faster rate

‘We don't have those older roots to anchor us in the professional world’

"The less wealth you have, the harder unemployment hits. Darity cited 2002 data that showed black households with a median net worth of $6,000, Latino households with a median of $8,000, and white households with a median of $90,000."

I knew this was coming when I saw/heard what Obama said to Joe the Plumber..."we have to make sure that the people that aren't as fortunate as you get a chance too."

We may be VSF (very seriously Fcuked)

I said it before, and I'll say it again: "First, they came for AIG". Now...which companies will be next?

The government is here to help.....:smt101

Lets hope and pray all the "followers" who voted these jerks in..show up to vote 'em out.

I can not believe... I mean really CAN NOT BELIEVE that some dumb sh1t in the government would even propose that they can go and seize a firm. The hearings today had them even saying they wanted to be able to seize a firm if they had NO bail out money but felt a company could "damage the economy." WTF?!

Isn't this called theft?

On CNBC and FoxNews today they both had people talking about how this tramples all over the constitution.

I think 2010 will be too late. At the rate they are going, we will be so screwed by then.

It is clear to me that Dems all have thier own interpritation of the US Constitution. Judging by the events of the last 60 days it would seem Obama and Friends are taking a constitution on taxpayers.

I hear Pelosi loud and clear, Here is the plan:
1.) If men want to marry men so be it, let the jag bags get married.
2.) Women as well, should they want to marry thier partners well let it be.
3.) How about abortions, might as well have at it and be legal in all states for everyone.
4.) Give this about 2-3 generations and we should be done with the Demacratic party!

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nationalization

nationalization
alteration or assumption of control or ownership of private property by the state. It is historically a more recent development than and differs in motive and degree from "expropriation" or "eminent domain," which is the right of government to take property for particular public purposes (such as the construction of roads, reservoirs, or hospitals), normally accompanied by the payment of compensation. Nationalization has often accompanied the implementation of communist or socialist theories of government, as was the case in the transfer of industrial, banking, and insurance enterprises to the state in Russia after 1918 and the nationalization of the coal, electricity, gas, and transport industries in the United Kingdom and France between 1945 and 1950. More recently, a further impetus has been resentment of foreign control over industries upon which the state may be largely dependent, as in the nationalization of the oil industries in Mexico in 1938 and Iran in 1951, and in the nationalization of foreign businesses in Cuba in 1960. A third motive for recent nationalizations may be the belief in some developing countries that state control of various industrial operations is at least temporarily necessary because of the lack of a developed capital market or supply of entrepreneurs in the domestic private sector.

They are on a ROLL NOW:smt100

Actually, I'm not. It looks like push back might have set in. The next few weeks should be interesting. End of last week, Osama was talking big about those nasty old businesses. Now he's dialing back the rhetoric. He's a boy in a man's job and is finding that "We won. We're in charge! The rest of you can ef off!" isn't going to work. Maybe soon someone will give him a bloody nose. We'll see.

But if the revolution comes, don't start without me. I want my bag limit on congresscritters, too!

Best regards,
Frank

Frank- just looked it up there is no "Bag limit on congresscritters" let them roll. In Wisconsin we are trying to pull a recall on our Gov. Doyle. He got that Obama spend going through his head. Citizens for Responsable Government are going to give it a whirl. 500k signitures in 60 days. With a little of Gods help and the magic of e-mail we might be able to pull this off!

Just curious, but it's Snowbird season here. Is it possible I can use the same license? What is the recommended caliber for Congresscritters and is a scope a necessity? Is there any special camo clothing, calls, bait or strategies that work? I just want to make sure I get a chance to bag one and send it to my taxidermist! I've got a spot right over the garbage can that would be perfect. One last question, what would be a good Boone and Crockett score to shoot for? I want a trophy NOT freezer meat!!

Pardon me, but WHY is this thread on CSR? If you want to talk politics, there's something like 345,943,503 other blogs to do it on. Please don't pollute CSR (and potentially destroy it).

Thanks.

This concept might be a little difficult for you to understand, but I'll try to go slowly.

If the idiots in government keep efing with business then there won't be much business to go around.

When there's less business, there's less money.

Less money means lots less boating.

Less boating means CSR will be a handful of guys who can still afford a boat and the rest who just remember having one.

Clear enough?
