who has the most hours on ther original engine?

this will be interesting. I asked my mechanic how many hours a gas mercruiser could go. He said he has seen over 3K hours on a well maintained engine.

1400 on sbc gassers and 1650 on 8kw Westerbeke genset. All run like champs

Twin 454 1250 and 1,100CC Quicksilver generator 800. Been told to expect 3,500 on 454s and 4000 on generator.
It all depends on how hard you run the gas engines. Was told best to load the generator up when running it.
