I knew work was goint to be busy this year while getting the boat ready for the season, however I had no idea it would be this bad. I literally was in the local office 4 short weeks since April. Many weekends I stayed over at the job site not even coming home at all.

Totals for the season - 7 hours total on the boat. Ridiculous. I would have been better leaving the boat shrink wrapped all season.

Right or wrong, I decided not to even change the oil in the engine or the drive at winterization. It literally was as clean as the day I put it in.

I also had a new '1st' this season.... I reused the shrink wrap for the first time ever. I was pleasantly surprised. It went on without a hitch and saved me a lot of time.

So who else had a worthless season for 2013?

Doug

We had a great season this year, although very little hot weather. What did you do to re-use the shrink wrap? I've never shrunk wrapped as I consider it a waste of money, ~$300 to wrap my boat, and only used once.

I cut it off at the anchor roller with one slice up and peeled it back over the top of the boat to the stern. I cut the water line band at the bow and the stern and then cut the belly bands at the keel.

Installation was the reverse. Start the stern and work your way to the bow. I may one patch where the slice was and then extended all the bands to reattach them to their original locations. I then reshrunk the rest of the material. It literally looks brand new.

I also had a very busy work related summer and only put maybe 20 hours. I did 1 trip to Catalina, and a few day cruises, spent 4 nights aboard this summer, when I had a lot more planned.

I went six week stretches without going down to the boat. I don't plan to let that happen next year. I will also try to take her out this winter a bit on the nice days.

That would be like marrying a porn star and only banging her once the whole year. Sad. :smt009

I think we did about 45hrs this year. :smt021

My old dock neighbor got 5yrs out of his shrink wrap.

He would cut by the stern corners and pull it back to the bow.

It didn't look pretty with all that repair tape on the corners. :wow:

But, He saved about $390 per wrap for 4yrs.

5 Hours on the boat. Nothing over 1/4 throttle. Work, weather, and people didn't cooperate. I will probably list it locally in the spring and see what happens.

10 hours all summer on the engines. 60 hours put on last week. Salvaged.

Do not feel bad us in the south got Rain, Rain, Rain, Rain, Seems like every weekend it Rained. 4th of July it rained for 5 days in a row. Better luck next year.

It seemed like we had a lot of rain here as well but I still was able to put 100 hours or so on her, made a few weekend or longer trips and enjoyed her as much as possible.

Our annual tally of hours isn't done yet, but it will be somewhere north of 100 hours. We put about 3 on her last weekend (and about 4 on the genset) and spent Saturday night on board.

It's still in the 50's here, and that's good boating weather. Our last trip of the year is usually the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade, then we kick off the new year with our annual New Year's Day cruise.

This summer with work and new baby I only did. 10 hours. Last summer was over 100.

We are in a similar situation. We spent Saturday night onboard but did not take her out (75 degrees both days!). We are looking at 75 hours (plus another 50 or more in the Caribe) or so but most of our trips are 20 miles or less. We still have 3 trips scheduled this year including the Christmas lighted boat parade. All of that said, I am disappointed we did not get her out even more often.

I put a little over 50 hours on the new boat, so this year wasn't too bad. Hope to get even more on it next year.

Work, weather, water levels up, and travel (not complaining about that one too much) but some how managed 25 hours on the runabout. 20 hours on the 280 before we sold it the 1st week in September and managed 20 hours on the 320 in the last 5 weeks of the season. Sucks but salvaged. More than anything though I can't wait to unwrap the 320 the second week of March 2014. 6 weeks earlier than I have ever hoped to launch. We shall see

I did more in Feb and March than I did all year, but still had an ok year. I wanted to go see other members up river but never found the time. Snow and ice here tomorrow, mid to low 20's tomorrow night but I still may sleep on the boat tomorrow night. We had a great deal of rain and a ton of work, both we needed (crops = income). I never got to sleep out on the river, which was my biggest goal for this year. Plenty of years to come

I got you all beat... I have about 0.5 hours this year. Enough to get to the lift, bottom done, and back to the slip.

I had a very, very busy summer working on my boat.
Managed to get in the water a whole month a half before the official end of the season.
Total hours on the new engines 2. I'll break them in next year.
Heck, I put more time on the dink..!

I'm looking at this year as all prep for summer 2014!

Mark.
