I'm looking to buy & install a new Raymarine autopilot. Looks like the right autopilot for my 1997 400 Sundancer is based on the steering ram capacity. Does anyone know what the capacity is for my boat. Also, has anyone installed a raymarine autopilot on a similar size boat like mine and if so, which model did you install.

Thanks

Any reason you are stuck on the Raymarine? Have you looked at the Garmins?

I'm in the same boat, no pun intended. Same boat, so probably same original equipment. Let me know what you decide on, and post pics of the install!

Might be awhile before I get it installed, but I will post pics when I do. I'm looking at the Raymarine EV-200 right now, but I need to know if this autopilot can handle a 400 DA.

I bought the Raymarine EV-200 (T70157) autopilot package yesterday. I checked the ram capacity of my steering hydraulic cylinder - which is a Seastar BA150-7ATM - and the capacity is 10.2 cu inches. This is within the range for the type 1 hydraulic drive included with the package.

Any tips on installing an autopilot on a 400 DA?
