New member here trying to decide on a new 35/37 Sundancer. Should I go for the V drives or the Stern drives with Axius? I have heard in the past that V drives can be problematical?
I ran the V drive boat and was surprised how smooth it ran with little vibration and no dicernable v drive whine. Have not run the Sterndrive model but the Axius system looks interesting? Boat will be used on a lake in Fresh Water.

With saltwater out of the equation I guess it becomes more a matter of preference.

I'd expect a similar ER setup with respect to access and serviceability, I'd take a look at both from that perspective. I've just never been a fan of I/O's because of the increased maintenance costs over straight drives.

V-drives are not problematic at all, except perhaps from the "serviceability" aspect I mentioned above. Access to the stuffing boxes can be non-existent, but that becomes less of an issue with dripless seals which I'm assuming are now standard.
