I would like to purchase a new prop for my Bravo 1, I would like to go into a SS four blade prop. however, I do no have any idea on the pitch and size that I should get. Could anyone recommend one?

What is your current WOT and prop size. Go up or down in pitch from there. I believe the bravo has a 14.75 max diameter.

As an aside be aware:

If you hit something with a stainless prop, your outdrive may suffer damage as well. A buddy of mine hit a submerged log and ended up replacing the entire port outdrive and the lower starboard outdrive.

I went with a Pirahna composite on my former Regal and could not have been happier. The breakaway blades gave me piece of mind. Probably not as good as stainless, however miles above aluminum. Plus, they have a blade ecchange program that allows you to dial your engine in until you are happy.

Good luck.

I just bought a prop for my 270DA. I was running a 19.75x19 pitch, 330hp on a tr drive with a 2:1 ratio. That ran 4600 WOT. I talked to the guys at power tech and they recomended a 4 blade 17.5X19 pitch stainless. Not really sure how its going to perform but they thought it would be the best way to go. 4 blade are not as fast but the do have better hole shot and docking manners. I will let you know how it pans out. There is a good artical on canada propller.com on diameter, pitch, blade style and so on. Good luck!
