OK. I looked at every thread in the West Coast Forum and did not see one mention of the Sacramento River Delta. Am I the only one?

As a former NW boater and a former Southern Cal boater, I would rather boat in open water than ditch boating but there are a lot of places to go here and SF Bay is only 3 hours from our slip in our 340. Makes for a really nice 3-5 day trip.

I thought this site would be great but I don't want to hear about all those folks with easy access to the Bahamas when I can't get to the San Juans or Catalina very easy now.

If there are any Northern Cal boaters out there, let's hear from you. Summer's comin'!

I took a drive to check out discovery bay last time I was in San Fran. Nice little setup in the middle of nowhere. Looks like there are a lot of boaters in the Delta. How long have you been boating there?

Welcome to the club! There are a couple of us CSR's up in Folsom. We are pretty new ourselves. Our boat has been on the trailer lately waiting for some good weather. For those out of the area, we have had about 14 days of rain out of the last 20 and the little graphics on our weather page shows solid rain through their forecast period.

If you do the delta or bay in the next few weeks, watch out for logs, deadheads, and errant duck decoys...

Next outing for us is for Feb 18-19, either to Loch Lomond Marina in San Rafael for some cruising and sturgeon fishing or something around Rio Vista. We might be going on a Shrine Yacht Club cruise in the next couple months too.

We have been boating the Delta for about 2 1/2 years. We started here with a 4Winns 265 Vista and after the first overnighter we knew we needed a bigger boat. We founfd the 340 and have been really happy. It's not as glitzy as the newer ones but it has a bit more beam and a great cabin layout.

We keep our boat at Oxbow Marina in Isleton. www.oxbowmarina.com It's a nice quiet place and just about smack in the middle of the Delta where there are over 1000 miles of navigable waterway. Come and check it out sometime.

Just Right
Check out Oxbow sometime. It's on Georgianna Slough, has a great guest dock and always a good crowd on the weekends. usually very a quiet and mellow crowd. Our boat name is Pretender. Hope to see you there.

Good to hear from other delta boaters. We have ours in dry storage at Sugar Barge marina http://www.sugarbarge.com/ on Bethel Island. Just waiting out the rain and looking forward to another great summer. Lots of great boating, exploring and dining in the delta.

.....another northern california, specifically the Sacramento area, boater checking in. We trailer our 280DA and frequent Folsom Lake, Sacramento/American River area.... and we do occassionally head down into the Delta (would like to get down in the Delta more) Oxbow is a nice marina....

You will usually find us anchored in the American on Memorial and Labor Day weekends :)

You're towing a pretty good load, Jeremy. We have made friends with a couple that live in Hanford and keep their 260 at Oxbow. We spend a lot of weekends right there at the guest dock. It usually turns out to be a pretty good party. Come and join us this summer.

I am also an OxBow berther. Try to get down to the boat every three weeks in the winter, but the weather is in command. Nice to know that there are other NoCal folks on this forum. This is my first post, although I wrote a previous message I don't think I sent it. Da!

Thanks for responding. Good to hear from another Delta boater and especially from Oxbow. Are you a member of the Sea Ray Club of Northern Cal? We met a couple in that club that live in Sparks as well. They keep their boat at Willow Berm.

As the weather gets better we can usually be found at the Oxbow guest dock if we don't go somewhere else. The boat name is Pretender. Look for us and stop for a Soda Pop.

Yes we are members of SRBCNC. You must have talked to Mickey and Denny. They live about a mile up the road from us. Look for "Lew Sea", that would be us. See you at the guest dock, now that the weather seems to be clearing.

Mickey and Denny it is. The weather is getting better. We are supposed to be sunny and low to mid 60's for the next 10 days. It even shows 69 degrees on the 15th but then the clouds come in for the 3-day weekend. I think we might spend tomorrow night on board as I have a number of projects to finnish up.

I have seen your boat and look for ward to meeting you.

I see that the last post here was about a year ago. I have my boat down at Willow Berm and enjoy cruising the delta. Does anyone know of some good places to eat with a nice guest dock in the area. We have been down to Garlic Brothers and it seems to be pretty good but always looking for other places. Thanks.

The Lighthouse right there by Willow Berm is better than before but not much of a cruise for you. The Point in Rio Vista is not bad and on the way there, in Three Mile Slough there is a place right across from Brannon Island State Park that we like too. It's called the Outrigger. It's bar food but they have lots of space to tie up and they let us bring the dogs onto the deck.

Oh yeah....they have Karaoke on the weekends and if you get there later in the afternoon you get to watch a bunch of drunk a-holes try and sing.

Another place I heard was good was The Breadfruit Tree near Paradise Point.

Thanks for the info. Need to get down there again, I've been kind of busy lately and haven't had time to get out on the delta.

We are there almost every weekend. Come to Oxbow Marina and spend a night at the guest dock with us.

Glad to see other Delta boaters on here..

Sarah and I take our boat to the Delta every year.. usually wind up at River point (formerly Stevens Point Anchorage) as they have a great little camp ground there right on the deep water channel.

We'll be heading out again the second week in February if you wanna get together for a beer and burger (Garlic Bros. maybe?)

Jlamb15, yes we have made the run many times at different times of the year. You can pm me for more info/details

Greetings all! We are getting ready (hopefully within a week or two) to launch our 300DA that we have been refitting for the past three months since purchase. We are going to dock at Alomar Marina just north of Sac but we'll be down to the Delta plenty this summer!
