4th of july is just around the corner. what are your plans and where will you be.

For me if I can shake this cold that I caught at Weeki Wachee last weekend. I will hopefully be making a dive off Anna Maria early in the day followed by some lounging and possibly some grilling out at Egmont Key and then a trip up to Saint Pete for the Fireworks Show with a late arrival back home.

how about you what's your plan. If you don't have one how about a meet and greet....

I will be anchored in a small cove with 4 other boats, the admiral, 2 dogs and the dink for doggie trips. The cove is near Tower Park Marina in the Sacramento River Delta area and is out of the way of the "3-day weekend" boaters that have no clue.

We're going to spend a night on the hook at Fishermen's Bay.

They'll have a fireworks show and we'll head to Canada for the rest of the weekend.

July 3rd from 06:00 to 06:00 on duty
July 4th from 06:00 to 06:00 on duty on a trade... dealing with all sorts of idiots injured with fireworks and the ocasional field fire for good measure:smt021. Enjoy your boating fellas, and be safe.

The National Harbor in DC. I'd go anchor off Ft. McNair to watch the DC fireworks, but dodging drunken idiots operate their boats in the dark is not my idea of a good time. We will enjoy whatever we can see from the protected confines of the National Harbor's new floating docks. There is a concert at Nat'l Harbor on Friday night (hopefully better than the noise pollution emanating from the BIH concert last weekend) and a Market of some sort on Saturday.

regards
Skip

I will be at my local dirt track smelling the burn of high octane.....as they are hosting a WDRL Late Model race and a class of 410 sprints, with fireworks to follow.

Any body that lives in the Midwest knows what I am talking about!!

mooring buoy at the end of Fisherman's Bay, Lopez Island for the parade and fireworks show on the 4th. Playing the remainder of the weekend by ear. Leaving Bellingham Thursday afternoon and praying for the weather that we are having this weekend in the high 80's.

On the fourth we'll likely cruise Old Hickory Lake up towards Sandy Chapel Cove, drop the hook, and relax.

On the fifth, My sister has planned an 80th birthday party for my Mom up at their lake house at Rock Island. My wife and I will each host a small tour bus full of her friends going to and from the lake, where my brother-in-law has fireworks planned for all the folks who have places there, as well as for the birthday guests.

And on the sixth, we'll likely sleep in, as thunder showers are a high probability that day.

Anchored out with the rest of the poor people! :smt089

Heading to a Chicago/Doobie Brothers Concert at SPAC on the night of the 3rd, and then taking the boat to a friend's camp on the lake in North Hero for Fireworks on the 4th/5th.

Plans call for a bit of morning boating followed by a much anticipated Dave Matthews Band concert in downtown Charleston at the stadium for our local minor leage baseball team, the Charleston River Dogs. That and a few frosty adult beverages.

Sitting on the back of my boat tied up in my slip watching an air show up and down the river right next to our marina. Then fireworks show being shot off the dam 1 mile north. After it's all over I'll turn on the marine radio and listen to all the havoc the drunk boaters are causing. Best seats on the river.
