where to search for info about the boat we are buying

I have the hull ID. The person we are buying it from says it is a 79 28 ft. but I find 1978 . I cant find anything else. Like is it an SRV something...how big, etc. The seller had told us it had a 75 gall gas tank....which when i look up that years models the only ones I can find with that size gas tank would be the 24 ft. SER4061A1078 is the HIN. Can someone help me out?

I believe your HIN breaks down as follows:

4061 = Serial #
A = January, Month of Manufacture
10 = Not sure
78 = Model Year
