Where to go on the 4th in Hampton Roads

New to this side of the States. Where are all the good places on the lower Chesapeake?

Any good raft ups or places for us trailer boaters?

Take the boat, find a spot to anchor at Hospital Point, call the water taxi on the VHF and go ashore for food and festivities.

We went there for Memorial Day. Docked at Waterside and then anchored for awhile out at the point.

You won't get a slip at Waterside during Harborfest. Last year they were $2500 for the weekend and they sell out early.

Anchoring at Hospital Point behind the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and taking the water taxi to shore is probably the only way to get to shore if you go by boat.

There are also several fireworks displays scheduled around the area.
