’Lo all, hope everyone is having a safe and great summer!
Question: we have a 2018 SPX-190 Outboard and I am not sure if I should connect a ski rope (pulling an adult, over 220lbs in dry weight) to: a) the pylon mounted vertically behind the padded sun deck; or, b) one of the eyes on either lower corner of the transom (or both connecting the ski rope to the center of a harness that hooks to both transom eyes)?
Part of my confusion stems from the fact that the aforementioned pylon has a sticker on it that very clearly says, “Do Not connect a tube or towable to this point” and yet, at the 00:52 second mark of this video (by SeaRay!) that is precisely what they show the boaters doing:
I’m thinking, if that pylon shouldn’t be used to pull a tube or towable, it probably shouldn't be used to pull a 220+ skier on two skis out of the water.
Any assist greatly appreciated!
