Where to buy rinda mercruiser scan tool?

Where have people bought there rinda EFI scan tool? Can you buy directly from Rinda? Is there an internet source? I do not necessarily mind buying from a dealer but it is much easier to have it delivered to my door step. Thanks John

Got mine direct from Rinda and they posted it to Australia.

I suppose it would help to have a mercruiser service manual. I doubt I could get that direct from Rinda but at least the scan tool can come direct from them. I will shoot them an email sometime.

I talked to them a couple of weeks ago about pricing etc and they even had me download the manual to review it. The merc and the techmate are the same I was told by the guy on the phone. Anyway here is the website

All the genuine Mercruiser manuals are available for download in PDF format. Last time I was on the site the links were still working and I downloaded the lot, about 30 manuals covering all engines and sterndrives from about 1975 to the present.

Also, the Rinda hand book that comes with the unit, explains all the codes and how to use it. Some knowledge of the ECU and MEFI is assumed.

I will look next time I am on the boat but anyone know off the top of there head if the 2000 7.4l mercruiser has a GM Delphi MEFI controlled or a PCM 555 from motorola? Where is the controlled located? The rinda website lists the Motorola as being for 2001 but the tech at rinda said that some of the 2000's also have the motorola controller.

2000 7.4 has MEFI-3. You can see the processor's heat sink under the plastic cover and above the rocker arm cover.

Thanks. When I called Rinda I told the lady it was a MEFI but then I got confused when she started asking about the Motorola ECM.

Once I get this device you guys better get ready for some questions, ha, ha...
