Where is Scooter Wayne?

Hmmm, that sounds like causin' a ruckus...But, since you haven't started here, maybe we'll let you stay on the island.

well, one is BOC and it was all done privately where the mods were being quite stupid about a story I was posting so that should curry points in my favor.

Boy never saw this coming when I posted the question. So here goes; Wayne sorry to hear about life's infrastructure failures (the potholes you mentioned); gofirstclass I did not read the attached thread and probably should but here goes just off of what was said here you made a trip and failed to check your safety gear. I'm sure you were shocked when you found out that you had shipped out without a life raft. Yes you should have been told, most definitely though you should have check and double checked your gear. I have read some of your previous post and it shocked me to read you sailed without checking the gear that just did not sound like something you would have done. Also, I don't know why you called for this thread to be locked. As to redneck Joe, you have been a member here for a lot longer than I have so post away, but if you are doing so just because you got yourself kick off of other sites why is this site the one you picked to cool your heels?

Wayne, The 'Trip of a Lifetime' is near 6 months ago. Those involved spoke their piece. It was shared on forums and maybe others agreed or maybe they didn't, maybe others learned something or maybe they didn't. At this point who gives a fck.

I come here a lot more than I post; my power in the Carver is the same as a Sea Ray and the other main 'boat' forum I belong to - we are small and don't talk about boats much mostly about drinking . Oh for those that have been stalked here by BOC mods they keep an eye on us too so don't feel too special.

I came here to check on wayne, all is well I'll quit posting now.

I would bit%h too ,because its a matter of principal. There MUST BE a trust between boaters just like drivers on the road. But six months have gone by,the trip is over ,no one will go on a trip without personally checking the equipment unless they dont care if they have a chance of drowning.Lets all let it go and think(post) some more positive things weve learned, like dont bug bomb your boat then not air it out,or take more care on the dock so you dont fall and impale yourself with a cleat,or,or,or,etc.

Thanks redneck Joe for your response. That's what we are here for, electronic socializing about boats, boating, equipment, and experiences. After that takes place, we learn about the people and the relationships start electronically and through that some move to a meeting in person. Through this site I have had the privilege to meet some of the members in person and that would not have happened if this forum did not exist. As a side note, there are others here I have not met personally but would like to. Redneck Joe by your above quoted words you demonstrated the whole purpose of my post, check on Wayne. Will everyone get along, we all know the answer to that No. I did read the link Wayne posted. Very sad. Friendships put to an unforeseen test by human errors. In my Opinion the lesson learned could have been told without names (some of those human errors) but what I also got from it was each person involved step up and took responsibility for their part in it, takes a Big Man to do that! May time and distance heal any rift between those involved. We choose to be in Wayne's words "creepy internet friends" and all relationships electronic or otherwise can be challenging. We are just humans. A tip of my hat to my fellow boaters regardless of the manufacturers name attached to their vessel, GFC's tag line says it best. I'll quite rambling now.

ok passtime one more post...

I've never met wayne, talked to him a few times on the phone and many interactions on forums. We all have our oddness and the challenge is to embrace them when we can. I know I've pissed off people from my posts over the years so no pot / kettle here. I've got a friend here locally that I love dearly, he is a boater, we have a blast when we get together, but he is out there and generally a complete idiot so I can only take him in person every few months at most for an afternoon, but again it is a blast when we are together and I don't want to ever not have my idiot friend there when we each need a day of idiotness together. If wayne was close enough to know personally probably the same.

I've met many 'creepy internet friends' over the last few years in fact on my other forum I started a post a couple weeks ago and listed all the folks I've met. I've used my points (I travel a lot) to help them with airfare, hotel, rental cars etc when in need. We've had overseas guests from the forums. I just spent a weekend in Tampa with 'creepy internet friends' and am going back in January for more (I'm pulling the Carver down and mrs is flying in for Gasparilla). We have a couple in Ft Lauderdale that pick us up at the airport, put us up in their pool house, and loan us a vehicle to use while we are there. Had a great lunch in Camilla Georgia with James on the way south to Tallahassee. Watched my Chiefs get spanked by Baltimore three years ago in Baltimore with Reed. Etc, Etc... We wouldn't have ever had the pleasure of meeting these great people without these forums.

One of my top 5 movies ever is Home for the Holidays. That's how I treat most of my 'creepy internet friends' - we're forced to be 'family' because of our boating life and at the end of the day all is OK, if not perfect.

I see you are in N GA. I get to Cartersville just north of Allatoona frequently and now that we are free of the bonds of a moored boat we'll be hitting Nickajack quite a bit (creepy internet friends in Chattanooga with a late 80's 24 DA but we don't hold that against them) so who knows...

Hey wayne, hope all is well and put the NyQuil down...

Boys, boys boys be nice to each other:) Life's too short for this agro:) As a "boating gal" I can only suspect that the wives of both GFC and Doug were not very happy to know the level of risks taken on this particular venture. I know if my husband had done that I would be livid (not interested in collecting the insurance). Thankfully nothing happened that would have required a raft and they all arrived safely.

Wayne no need to hold anything against GFC. I also commented on those threads and chewed both parties out. Because of GFC and Doug’s posting it made my trip up the coast a lot safer. Stuart decided to act like a kid with his temper tantrums and stopped talking to me and others. Stuart has since then acted like a spoiled little rich kid and took his football home.

The drama threads never seem to die, do they? This isn't directed at Tom, I've been wanting to comment for awhile.
