So I'm on my friend's 1999 400 Sundancer. I go down in the salon and it seems to be quite large compared to my salon (2000 410 Sundancer - Basically the same boat). I then realize that he doesn't have the table down there. So I ask him does he always travel without the table? Must be a pain deciding if you need it or not and then always loading it on and off the boat. Then he tells me that he takes the pedestal off and has storage under the forward bed for the table and pedestal. "WTF!" I say.

I don't have that. My water tank is located under the forward bed. So is there a place on my boat where I can store the table if I don't want it out in the salon?

Can you just put in midberth when you want salon opened up....On my old boat, I put under foreward stateroom.....My a/c was there and there was a carpeted track for the table.....

Hmmm, I'm not sure if it will fit in there, but I will check.

If there is space in the engine room maybe you could build a storage rack in there for it. I did that for my cockpit table in my 260DA but there is a big difference between my boat and yours. :smt043

A boat neighbor with a 410 replaced the table with a wicker chest with a Plexiglas top (maybe 2 feet by 4 feet by 2 feet high ). It really opens the salon up and provides a nice storage area. Why I have not done this yet to ImpulseIII is a mystery!!~!

I talked about the salon table storage issue a few years back.........Looks like there's still no real solution for it a few years later.... :)

I bought a leather covered hassock and kept it in the mid cabin for extra storage. The top comes off and turns upside down to double as a table.

I just took the hassock off two weeks ago. Turns out I NEVER used it in the 4 years it's been there.

As for the salon table....I don't really see any advantage to taking it down and storing it. Everytime we use the boat for an overnight trip we use the table to store stuff on top of, for the laptop, or, as a table.

When I'm using the boat as a day boat, I'm not down below so the table's not in our way.....having it stored wouldn't serve any purpose.

Storing and un-storing the salon table would just be more of a PITA then it's worth....IMHO.

Rick, Those brackets are for the cockpit table. Would love to find someplace for the salon table but as Robert said.....nothing under the forward bunk.

Right. Wrong table. How about under the aft cabin bunk? There is a short, wide door there. The table might fit.

HoHoHo funny man. Even if I tried to put her in that compartment, I think that part of her wouldn't fit.

Wow, now here's a cool mod that would ordinarily draw more scorn, ridicule and lambasting than a bowrail mounted satellite dish 'round these parts. I hope it's at least marine wicker.
