Good grief! It's a small microwave!

I've got to measure it again. My husband says he measured it and it can only be 9" in height. so far, no luck finding one that small.

This is what is in my 480DB:

It's a microwave and also a convection oven. We use the convection oven piece probably more than the microwave. It'll cook a prime rib medium rare very nicely using the oven functionality... It's about 13" tall though. I thought Sea Ray was putting these combo oven/microwaves in all their boats now. Microwaves suck... They turn meat into rubber... That's why you can buy them at Sam's Club for $19.99... The meat that a microwave oven destroys is worth more than the microwave oven.

I have a convection microwave at home. I love it, unfortunately there's no room for it in this boat. :(

Gary is there special venting that is required?
I imagine with the convection there is quite a bit of heat generated

The microwave in our 340 is a GE model. We've called them and they no longer make one that size (small) we may be stuck with the old one... :(

What exactly is it you are trying to do? I assumed you were replacing a broken one. If it's a remodel, you could make the hole bigger and get what you want.

Well we pulled the old one (too weak to make popcorn) By removing the board and the microwave, we were able to install one that's 10" tall. We're fabricating a small front peice to hold it in. There's not enough ventilation for a convention oven.

Ours bit the dust in our 1994 300 a few months ago. I searched everywhere and called salvedge yards. no luck. We thought outside the box and offered to buy a new one for our buddys boat who didnt have the space constraints we did. Worked out great. He got a new microwave and we didnt have to cut our cabinets. take a walk on your docks and see whose boats may have the gem you need. lol
