I Tried Taylor..they sent me to Searay..said they cant sell direct. Searay wants to sell me a new boat...act like they never made a boat over 10 yrs old. No parts numbers etc or support for an 1985 Model.

Sea Ray dealers buy parts directly from Taylor. Taylor has a master vendor agreement th at prevents them from selling to us direct.

We have encountered several dealers who won't make the effort to source parts for older boats. Here is one that will:

Treasure Island Marina
3605 Thomas Drive
Panama City beach FL 32408

850-234-6533

John Mass is the parts guy there and he is one of the best in the business. When you call, ask to speak to John if he doesn't answer himself. It is best to call, speak to John, let him know what you need then give him the time to research what is available. Expect to give them a credit card number, they usually order the part, receive it, then repack and ship on to you if that you need is ordered with other things they need. If the vendor will drop ship to you, they prefer to do that since it is cheaper and gets you what you need quicker.

As a disclaimer, I keep my boat at the Treasure Island and have been there 25 years. It is a family owned businessman it is a "for profit" business. They have about 700 boats in storage and they are slammed at this time of year. They take care of their customers and boats in their shop first then handle phone sales, so from May thru Sept. the turn around on special orders can be a few days. They don't control the prices for special order items. THey get the price from the vendor, add a reasonable mark up and shipping then pass that on to you.

Good luck and I hope the windshield trim you need is still available from TaylorMade.

When you call, have some measurements in hand. The channel opening height, especially. Also, have an email ready to send with a couple pictures of the rubber from different angles. Take the pictures with a ruler so they have a real good idea of what you have. Anything you can do to make it a bit easier for him would help - it also could prevent having to play phone tag trying to figuring things out.

I have an 88 30' Sedan Bridge and the side cabin Windows are stuck tight and leak a little. I am assuming from the conversation that removal of the black rubber in the center of the frame on the outside that goes all the way around will allow me to separate the window frame?

Once separated I should be able to remove the rubber channel that the window itself is stuck in, Yes?

Finally ordered from Treasure Island Marine in Panama City Fl as suggested. Their pricing is better than my local Searay Dealer and the stuff is shipped directly from Taylor so it doesnt matter how far away you are from the Searay dealer you order from. Very good service and follow up. Talk to John Moss in parts.

Trying to get Taylor to perform was a mixed bag. Got my best results just mailing them samples to get part numbers. Much of the vinyl I was replacing was so deformed that it was tough for the dealer to sort out by picture ...so mailing a sample to the manufacturer always worked.

I havent removed very much of the original vinyl so cant help the gent who wants to know hoe it all comes apart yet.

Anyone have any pics of the window frame removal sequence for front and or side windows on sedan bridge 88-89
