When your 22 year old says. Let go to the boat.

I have 2 boys, a 2 year old, and a 2 week old. Bought the boat last year for family time. This year, the 2 year old constantly says "off boat!" He'd rather be out walking then be confined to the boat. Trying to make it as fun as possible for him, but, can't wait till he's older and enjoys it.... How long till that happens? LOL

My triplet daughters are going to be 26 this year and when they turned thirteen is when I started to travel to Asia for work for 2 weeks at a time. The 18+ hours in the air was the only time no one could call, text or complain! All kidding aside they were good kids and it was still tough for a couple of those teenage years but they've always loved boating and fishing and we still spend plenty of quality time on the boat.
I was the same I travelled to Brazil and China all the time when the twins were 16 to 20..so not the greatest for my wife.. these two characters shared a car .... they could have had their own used car or share a new car.... they opted to share a new one.... that car hit the house, took out the garage door in reverse, got rear ended and taken away for disrespecting mom.... when I took it away I parked it on a Chevy dealers lot up front by the road like it was for sale.... god knows what they thought at the dealership.... I would drive the twins by the dealership to show them their car for sale.... then drop them off a mile from the school to walk.... they were in cross country so don’t bash me.... it’s not like they couldn’t run to school :)
A couple years ago ...they are 27 now.... the worst one took me aside and apologized for being such a little shit. She was already forgiven but a nice jester.... she just had a daughter 3 weeks ago..... payback :)

Our youngest son was on the boat from the time he was a week old until he left our home for good, so he never knew anything but being "on" the boat. When my two year old grandson was put on the boat for the first time when visiting our home, the first words out of his mouth when his feet hit the deck were, "No boat!" He enjoys boating today but is now 16 years old.

Thank you for sharing your special moments with us. This is truly a time when you realize just how amazing of a kid he was and now what an amazing young man chatting it up about his future. This is truly special. We have 2 sons and one that would be the very same age passed 4 years ago this month unexpectedly. Enjoy your boy at every moment and good for you for being a great dad!
I too lost my son unexpectedly at age 16 back in 2011. Have to say the post brought a tear to my eye. Would give my own life to have that weekend with him grown up like that. JointCustody is very blessed to have this moment and I get a bit of joy that he is able to have it.

I have two daughter that we’re raised on lake powell their soul are part of that lake both touched the water and were on a boat before 5 months old. The three of us are so tight they call just about everyday. I don’t think I could ask for better kids. My oldest just had my first grand daughter she’s not even 3 months old and we will head to lake powell in two weeks to dip her in the waters that we love so much introduce her to the powers of our beautiful lake. Can’t wait to start her life on powell.
If you haven’t been to our lake I fully recommend doing so no place better
Thanks JC for sharing you story I will get pics of my new gb touching the water for the first time and share them

Looks like an awesome lake. Too bad it’s over 1200 miles away.
