Just curious with this nice weather of late, when you guys will be dropping your boats into the water?

Thanks

JD

March 31st for us........

Never came out....wintered in the water....

This past weekend, I pulled, cleaned and stored the Ice Eater. Then I removed the winter canvas and installed the summer canvas. And THEN, after I spent a few minutes checking things out in the ER, I opened the Main's seacocks and brought both mains back to life!!!! Ahhhhh.....the sound and smell of boating was in the air.

I'll do a short haul in another month or so to paint the bottom, wax the hull, change the zincs and swap out my props.....The rest of the systems won't be re-commissioned till late April.

Nice, ok so early starts for most of you then. Mines being fully commished on March 22nd and so long as no major problems will be dropped in that week. VERY VERY excited for my first year.

I never take it out of the water. We even boat when there is ice in the river. A few times we had to have someone on the bow with a pole to make sure it wasn't to thick. A friend of mine did lose a trim-tab on his Trojan while backing into a slip at Coles Point with ice in it during one of our winter trips.

I plan to be in the water 2nd week of May. . .I was originally targetting May 1st, but I have conflicting committments.

No point washing and waxing in cold weather just to drop the boat in and listen to my wife say, "It's too cold to go."

This weekend I will pull mine from its winter hideout and take it to the gulf. I had a new boatlift installed last week at our place in Ft Morgan.

I have extra projects lined up, so the earliest I can think of is the end of April. I'll be reviewing what are the the items that must be done while the boat is on hard and then leave the rest to do when I launch her.

I'm with Frank that there's no reason to rush until the weather stays consistently warm. The last thing I want is to be stuck with kids in the cabin with the heat running b/c it's too cold. But, I do want to make sure that she's all ready when the nice weather is here.

Like Dom, my boat never came out the water... What a year to keep it in... Frank C warned this might happen... Over 5' of snow this year, when we only got a total of 5" in the previous 5 years combined... Anyway, my wife took off the Christmas lights on Monday. I hope to get to reassemble my generator after Easter break. With help from Above, I hope to have the boat back in commission by sunset on May the 2nd...

April 2nd, with a haul to FL for a week on the 16th.

Just turned in my work order. 4/10 for us. I enjoy going in early with less people on the water. So what if it's a little cold. My slip is paid for from 4/1-10/31. For the money we spend on boating, the earlier the better.

I have your info and you are listed on page one of the AC 2010 post.
I booked May 1. I'm buried behind so many boats I wonder if that day will even work out!

Brian:
If you'd like to make the AC trip, remember it's not invitation only. PM me if you're interested.
