I have only had this problem happen to me twice over the last few weeks so I am not sure what to think. When I shift into forward and then try to accelerate, the engine will rev a bit (like the outdrive is in neutral), but then it will suddenly engage. Both times this has happened, I could not get the problem to surface again no matter how many times I would shift into neutral and then back into forward.

Could I have a cable adjustment issue here or could it be something internal to the Bravo 3? I plan to talk to the Service Department about it Monday since it's under warranty but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has any thoughts on what the problem might be.

It should be the shift cable that goes from the engine to the outdrive, it is about 3 or 4 feet long and is known to stretch out over time. This is NOT the cable that goes from the throttle/shifter (at the helm) to the engine. Mine had to be replaced 2 times in a 9 year period (550 hours). I bet that is the cause.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. It's not an inboard? This must be one of those trick questions.
