What's the oddest boat ever made by Sea Ray?

I would have to say it was the 14' Jet Boat from the 1994 time frame... ~90HP. Not even sure if was really a "Sea Ray" or some OEM'd boat.

I'm not going to touch that one with a 10' pole............!

The Sea Rayder was an attempt to capture some of the PWC market. The little jet boats were/are a blast but never really fit in the Sea Ray marketing picture.

I agree with you that jet boats are a blast and, as you said, they just didn't fit with the Sea Ray brand IMO which is why I said that. More inline with Sea Doo and Yamaha.

I actually have a 20' Sea Doo Challanger and it is a hoot. Let's see a 20' Sea Ray go 55 mph and then turn the wheel all the way over and do 360's skipping on the water! (those are fighting words I am sure)... darn 480 won't do that.

Your 480 might not do it.... but you can sure do a lot of things with the 480 that you wouldn't dream of doing with your Challenger

Look at this one that I found......................Sea Raycers by Sea Ray as used at Walt Disney World.

I think it was one of their first designs. It worked well for several years until raping and pillaging became pollitically incorrect...

Dave I know you must love these. A dark blue hull with a forward facing arch...nice.

Bri
I think they take all of the scraps of fiberglass off of the Searay plant's floor and stick them in a shrinky dink mold, throw them in an oven.......and Vwalllllaaahhhh!

Brian..........Doesn't this look like a picture of our moderators racing each other?
I think Richard is in the lead!

It appears that those boats had some problems when they first came out:

"…It seems that there have been some hull problems with the new Sea Raycer boats that were scheduled to replace the Water Mice. The Water Mice are remaining in service until the Sea Raycer issue is resolved."

from the very reliable information website of MousePlanet:

I'll bet the hull problems had to do with balsa cores below the waterline.

Nope!!! Anyway Wesley's in the lead. (Good thing it's not saltwater) Isn't that a "no wake" marker you guys are passing?

Weren't those the inspiration for the Hummer 3? Can I get mine with a Bravo 3 and an 8.1 or should I get twin 5.0's with the Alpha? While you're at it, mount the radar and GPS on that arch and throw the trolling motor on the back. I'll need a Danforth with 5 feet of chain and 200 feet of rode. Can I tow that with my diesel Mini Cooper? Will I need a weight distribution hitch with electric brakes or surge brakes? Maybe I should get a Gooseneck instead? How far out in the ocean have you taken your Sea Raycer? :smt043
