What's the Difference

................I wish I had the cockpit refrigerator option and a generator. It would sure be nice to be able to use the microwave and the cabin stove when overnighting on the hook, and not to have to worry about pulling the battery flat with the fridge. I manage to get by with the gas grill, but it would still be nice. Maybe on my next yacht.....

Thanks you guys for the support. I was wondering if I add a Genny to this boat we're looking at (has Microwave, stove and fridge- no genny) How many have a genny on a 260DA? Is there room for one?

There's room for a Genny - I had an inverter. with 4 golf cart batteries on mine - on top of the house group 27's

We have a genny. It's in the stbd rear portion of the engine room but I think the dealer did the install prior to delivery to the original owner, because the layout of our system components in the engine room is a bit different from the illustrations in the manual.

We don't use it too much, but it's nice to have. We mostly just run it for the microwave or 120 outlets. Our battery (we have two but use only one for overnighting) lasts overnight at anchor so we haven't had to use it to charge the batts before going to bed, but that's a possibility. Between the noise and worries over possibly CO issues, we haven't slept with it running.

Thanks Guys
The inverter/charger idea and bank of Batts was the direction I think we'll go, I just want to make sure I can get a good charge when on shore power

From a 21' Cobalt to at 26' 260 DA. Noticed the day at the lake became much more enjoyable. No you can enjoy not running around at 40 mph. The galley plus the head made it much more enjoyable for the wife. You can sit, prepare a fresh lunch and use the head wherever you are. Spending the night on the boat at the marina became a real joy.

The real joy came in a stepup to a 280. More room, a tv and dvd to pass away the evening hours. A dedicated galley seating area and a larger aft berth. Air conditioning and heating means you are comfortable no matter what the weather. The fixed radar arch means attaching the canvas is easy. And handling with twin I/O's is great, particularly when the wind is blowing. An anchor and windlas means it is simple to throw out the hook, even when you are alone. Also, it is amazing how much difference the one foot of additional beam over the 260 makes in both comfort and ride.

This boat has become a second home for the wife and I. It is the perfect size for us, enough room and a dream to handle if I want to go out alone. If the kids come home you can still tube.
