I am going to have my audio/video system upgraded next spring and thought I might use the holiday sales as a time to get a flatscreen.

I want to install it on the flat wall of the cabin that is right of the stairs (when coming down) and facing the main berth. Most of the newer Dancers have it as a factory option now.

What size is the best fit for that area and does anyone know of a very small flat mounting bracket to keep it as close to the wall as possible?

Finally, what options do I have for the slide out TV/VCR combo that is in my boat now? Is there a way to remove it and have a coffee pot put in its place? If so, who makes that unit?

Thanks

We got a 12" because it fit in the old spot. Put it on a hinge mount so we could use the space behind it. Can see it better than the last. Staying with the same size as lat one worked well for us.

On the wall over the aft cabin a 26 inch wide screen fits best. I originally purchased a 32 inch for that project, it turns out it would fit but it does interfere with the door to the electronics cabinet.

It is a bit of a job to add this on your own, but I did mine. Here is a link: http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23921

I posted on this site several months ago after I completed the job. Maybe it will help you.

Good luck,

Can/will a 23" HDTV/DVD combo flatscreen work, instead of a 26" unit, relative to being able to view it from the main berth?

The reason I ask is that Toshiba makes a 23" that is only 3.9" thick and I want to keep it as close to the wall as possible?

They don't have a 1080p in this size but it seems that when you move from 720p to 1080p the thickness increase to over 5".

I would love to get a recommendation on a TV/DVD model some of you have installed.

Also if you have a ultrathin mounting bracket brand/model that has worked that would be appreciated as well, it does not need to tilt or swivel.

Thanks

Just as a note. Took a nav class at MarineMax a couple weeks ago. The instructor said that the new Sundancers (350) that have the TV located next to the cabin door need to have the magnetic compass realigned. Seems the TV is upsetting the magnetic field around the compass.

Look into the new LED TV's. They are anly about 1" deep, more expensive but very slim lines and very light!
