Whats my trailer worth?

I have a 24' Sorrento sitting on an older LoadRite dual axle trailer. The boat hasn't been off the trailer in years. The rollers are old black rubber type and show some cracking. The tongue is bent, most likely from someone jack knifing it, the winch and cable are rusted to hell, the jack is crap and it needs all new lights. I got the boat pretty cheap from a friend and spent some money and a bunch of time getting the boat cleaned up and in good running condition. My problem is now my friend is holding the title and wants $1000 for this trailer. Growing up around boats I know that is a ridiculous price, I figure it might be worth half that. The tires are in good shape although way outdated. I was already misled on quite a few issues with this boat so what I'm asking is what is a fair asking price for an old trailer in need of this much work? Thanks in advance.

Wow, and this is a friend of yours? Shoot us some pics so we can get an idea of condition and damage (tongue). What's your $$ amount you have in mind? Trailers aren't cheap once you get over 20' capacity. But, if it's damaged and a rust bucket, I'd walk away and find another. Too much 'riding on it' and cost to rebuild may be more than the trailer's worth.

He is holding the title to the trailer? Does he need the trailer for something or is he just being a prick? Trailers aint cheap so if you can give him 5-600 bucks to eliminate the need to do something else with the boat then do it. If he is set on $1000 I say explore your options then tell him to "come get it off of your property & don't let the door hit you in the asss."
