As a long time boat owner over the last 35 years, boat names can be fun and always a bit personal. My adorable wife came from a very beautiful yet harsh area of the Philippines called the Visayas. At 29 years old, she came to America after working in very very difficult environments with nothing more than a suitcase and about $50. She never had a Christmas present till she was 23, had paper cutouts for dolls and had (and bought) her first Birthday cake at age 25. She often went many days even a week and more without food in college while sleeping on the floor. That changed and then some. A couple years ago we bought a little aluminum boat for her first boat ever. She was raised on the Sulu sea and never once fished. That was quickly changing. Then last year we bought an old Glastron, fixed it up and put Visayan Pearl on the side. She caught her first fish ever in the mighty Menominee River. A 22" bass! :) Visayan Pearl is both descriptive of her land of birth and the pretty new pearl paint on the boat. Well, the Glastron just wouldn't cut it on the waves on the Bay of Green Bay so she wanted...and deserved something different and safer for she and our little babe...Asia Christina. I looked and looked and found a vessel, though older, that would do us proud and make her proud as well as she has come soooooo far. We found our SeaRay 220 DA. Needs a little work, but what a blessing. Visayan Blue means several things. For one, the Visayan Blue is an indigenous bird from her island. We found this out after we came up with the name. Secondly, her father, just recently passed used to call her, the 8th child of 9... "his little birdie". So its a combination of joy and love, pride of her country of birth and much pride in her new land that has changed her life forever...in so many ways. So...as we cruise and fish the beautiful blue of the mighty waters of this great nation of ours, Visayas remains in heart and in mind. Oh...and as the great great grandson of Captain John Daniel Angus, Captain of the Algonquin and many others and one of the first ever to sail a steamer through the great lakes in the early 1800's, I am a proud American and proud man of the sea. :) Blessings, T

Welcome from New Orleans. Nice story and a nice looking boat. I have a soft spot of '89 Sea Rays as we ownd an '89 340 Sundancer for about 4 years. Loved that boat.
