What wood foil can do....

Thx mate, used DC-fix brand.... just let her do the sandwich for you, its a win win .... lol
Looks fantastic. I had looked into 3M Dinoc and the Vivid film for a similar project to update my mid 90s formica. Its still my plan to do that. Looking at the rustic oak D-C-Fix, it seems like it is quite narrow. How did you join pieces to cover wider panels?

Thx Mate.....Well you have to do the conversion yourself, but I was able to buy it in 210cm x 90cm, only had to make 1 joint 1 place, luckily its where one of the upper cabinet door opens, its not visible at all, moved the sheet sideways to find a good pattern/structure in the wood design to merge the pieces. All cabinet doors fully fitted in single pieces.
I saw some other brands comes in 100cm x 500cm rolls, for livingroom door foil coverings.

Cheers

Tracking. my light Corian/Formica interior is looking for a change. My dilemma is that I now have a maple wood flooring, but still have the Jag green Ultrasuede, which, will remain. So, probably some solid color for the Formica faces. Interior decorators onboard here? Suggest, please. I don't care for Northern dark woods and leathers.

I was thinking I was not going to go dark either, but man, looking at @Max Jens Odgaard 's pictures, it looks so modern and nice, its a tough call. I know I don't want to go with the gloss cherry look. As much as my off white formica looks dated, I think it would be worse to use gloss cherry. I plan to replace the carpet with solid flooring and I am thinking something in a driftwood color (light grey/brown), but not too rustic, for the flooring. That will keep it a bit light and then with a non-gloss darker woodgrain for cabinet doors etc. And get rid of the gold knobs at the same time.

Just bought a 400 EC 1993, here is what my wife and I did during a long weekend.... 100usd spent, and some verbally fights in the process :)

Grips from Ikea 60usd,.... Wood foil, paint, led approx. 40usd

What you need is heatgun, a stanley knife, and a plastic spatula to remove trapped bubbles (they sell a kit where you buy the foil). remember to deep clean objects before applying. Dont heat when applying on flat surfaces, only where area bends/curves.
I used DC-fix brand, but my guess is any brand will do. Remember to buy more than enough foil, becuz it takes a few sheets to crack the code....
When heated the foil becomes elastic, dont stretch it too much, if doing so the colour also get stretched and the area will look/appear more pale/white. buy an extra roll of foil, if the production stops and you need a repair later on....And most importantly..... If you have the time to do it yourself, then do it yourself!! leave your wife out of it, even though she knows shes the expert....
That looks great!
