What to clean a soot stained Zodiac.

A kerosene heater burner malfunctioned and sooted the entire garage including the Zodiac. Normal dinghy cleaners have not removed it. Also tried some household cleaners like, Fantastic and Scrubbing Bubbles. Suggestions???

If it is a PVC inflatable I have cleaned mine to amazing results using interlux solvent wash 202 with a small clean white terry cloth towel flipping frequently, followed by an immediate regular wash and protecting with 303.
