Hi guys just trying to find out how much my boat weighs, only just bought it but want to take the 305chev out and put a outboard on a pod but not sure what size , thinks it’s a 22c
Serial number is sera98220677-220cc940
Can anyone help me please

Wayne, your signature says 1999 - but the hull number (serial number) you posted doesn't match that. The last two numbers of the main number should be the year. Once you know the model year you can go to Sea Ray's website and look at the archives for that weight.

BUT... if we're at least sure that it's a 22' boat, I would do a minimum of 200HP (older boats need more HP than the newer ones with more efficient hull designs). Ideally, go with 250HP. It certainly wouldn't hurt to put a 300 on there, but that's likely overkill (well, more HP is never "really" overkill!). A lot of this depends on how you'll use it and, most important, how you will reinforce the transom.

Thanks very much for your reply…..I have to redo the transome and stringers anyway and I think it’s a 89 not 99

I was thinking that too but registered as a 1989 here in Australia

For the answers you're looking for, though (and proper help on forums, at shops, dealers, etc), you need to base everything off the real model year. Sounds like some previous owner did some "not so honorable" things with the registration.

After you replace the transom core and stringers, it would be easy enough to add more strength to the transom by either glassing in knee walls or using some aluminum angle to tie the transom to the stringers.
