Hey everyone I`m new here and I need a small help from you
smile.gif
I got question regarding this part below:

http://img188.imageshack.us/g/2704102322.jpg/ (link for 2 photos album)

First of all my boat is Sea Ray 215 Weekender and I don`t have any clue what this part above (link) might be for and where should I mount it... There are two knobs like that. What are these?
Recently my boat was in service and they gave me these parts saying that are from my boat from seats...
Please help if anyone can recognize it...

PS. sry for my english.. its my second language

Welcome to CSR!

It’s either a illudium q-36 explosive space modulator or a twist lock for a pull out cockpit bench seat on a Sea Ray boat.

If its from your boat then grab your cockpit seats and give each a pull. You must have one that will slide out and go from a seat to a lounge. That is the one you are looking to find.

Once you find the correct seat look below where your bottom (butt) would be if you were sitting on the thing made as a seat. Somewhere you will see a threaded hole and this goes into that hole.

Insert and hand tighten it and the seat will be locked as a seat. Loosen it and you can slide the seat into a lounge.

If its a illudium q-36 explosive space modulator be on the lookout for this guy. His name is Marvin and he’s very angry. Very angry indeed.

Looks like the "lock" for the fore and back adjustment on the helm seat. screws down into the aluminum track alongside the seat.

Hi!

Welcome to CSR. And Presentation is correct. That is a release knob for the folding cockpit seats. Loosen them, and the seats recline. Fold the seats back to seating position, tighten that knob to secure them.

And one of mine is broken, leaving the very tip still screwed into the seat, meaning that seat of mine does not recline.

I see you are from Poland. Sorry for the recent loss of your country's leadership. I have family there.

Good Luck!
John

Does the 215WE have folding seats? I'm not sure we know what year this one is. My 1995 215 had fixed seats everywhere... Maybe these parts aren't from this boat?

The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator is a small, highly specialized explosive device that remarkably resembles a stick of the Earth invention dynamite. The resemblance is particularly notable for the fact that illudium of any kind, let alone the highly specialized Q-36 isotope, is nowhere to be found on Earth, and cultures that have discovered space modulation technology tend not to have a great familiarity with Terran culture.

Despite the resemblance, the IQ-36ESM is to a conventional explosive what quantum physics is to Newtonian physics. When a small amount of heat and kinetic energy is fed into the top of the IQ-36ESM (usually by means of a fairly conventional fuse), that energy is modulated within the confines of the device's small shell, until the wave of kinetic force that emerges from the bottom exhibits some very strange qualities. The IQ-36ESM causes space itself to continue modulating the shockwave, making it disobey physical laws that would normally apply. Not only does the force magnify itself greatly rather than dissipating over space and time, reaching a destructive capability orders of magnitude higher than any other explosive, but the physical force itself can be carried across vacuum when focused properly. (Such focus requires the IQ-36ESM's explosion to be channeled through large barrels containing further modulating chambers.) Needless to say, explosive space modulation is extremely dangerous, and many societies that develop it soon find themselves victims of the school of unintended consequences, as the technology falls into the hands of their maddest scientists and most unscrupulous generals. The planet Mars, always predisposed to war, was all but wiped out by the geometrically scaling effects of modulation warfare, leaving their home planet largely uninhabitable. The remaining Martian commanders (mostly insane, solipsistic and inbred) roam the solar system, erecting strange orbital platforms from which to mount their curious, vengeful missions. These sad, diseased, perhaps truly evil souls have the evolutionary advantage that they can breathe in vacuum, because they are cartoons.

Hey Andy,

You’re crazy.

I like that!

Some guys are just good with google...

Not to dispell the modulator theory, but I believe the "lounge" seats were an option on the 215WE.

Yeah guys you were right. No its not modulator part :p It`s part for blocking seats. Thank you very much for all answers and good laughs :) I really apreciate it. :smt038
