What is the plate/knob labeled "Glomex" alongside forward TV?

Been staring at and turning this knob for a season and honestly have no idea what it does? My TV's are all hooked to on board KVH satellite dome through direct tv which has always worked just fine. So what is Glomex knob all about????

That is the AMP for your Glomex Over-The-Air TV Antenna on the Radar Arch. If you have KVH Satellite I doubt you will use it.
