What is the longest run you have done in one day on your searay?

Middle Potomac River, MD to C n D Canal (upper Chesapeake) only 140nm, fairly smooth seas, about 5 hours @ 27 knotts. Autopilot about half the time. One stop for lunch and fuel. Would love to do the trip down the east coast to the Keys, but that will be in the next boat (diesel).

Port Newark NJ to Cape Town, South Africa... (not my searay, the MORMAC SUN merchant ship) On my 340 Toms River NJ to Montauk, NY

Did the 185 miles from Ludington to Mackinaw City a couple times in one run. It was a 7 to 8 hour event and I was more than ready to be done driving a boat by then. Somewhere around 100 miles is in my comfort zone on calm seas.

We did a run from Boyne City to Grand Haven on Sunday, that was a 11 hour day with an 1 1/2 lunch break in Ludington. Head wind with 1-2 footers, today my body was feeling a little sore. We normally do this in two days but with 4-7 foot waves in the forecast that was not happening!

100 miles in our 290 today. 1-3’ mostly on the nose on Lake Ontario. About 60 minutes of it was dead flat, so I had a chance to put the stereo on and relax, but the rest took a bit out of me.

The 290 doesn’t have a raised helm so I find myself standing most of the ride to get a good look at what’s in front of us.

Back when we had the 300DA we did Key West to downtown St Pete in one day. Took about 12hrs if I remember correct. Worst part was no auto-pilot. I have auto-pilot now!
And certain times of the year, the AP would do you no good unless you run off about 30-40 miles from the coast.
Lobster Traps......... Like running a slalom course.

Glad you had a safe trip back! Thanks for stopping over to say hello, it was great to see you!

We did our longest one day run two weeks ago from Greenport, LI back to Marlboro, NY. it was a 7 1/2 hr 181 mile trip with a fuel stop at Liberty Landing just for some insurance fuel and a break.
After we arrived at our home dock my wife and I both agreed we would not plan do that again! We were exhausted and it took the pleasure out of our day.

As others have said earlier, there is a lot of stress added watching for crap in the water and making the trip around NY is nice but very stressful with so many other boats and ferries to watch for.

Have been experimenting with trawling speeds on the new boat and to date our longest trawl is a little over 5 hours at about 9.5/10 knots. We only went about 60 miles but I will say it was the most relaxing cruise we’ve had onboard. We really got to enjoy our surroundings, have a conversation, take a nap, make breakfast and the kids watched a few movies.

On our 320, 100 miles. Urbanna, Va up the Potomac for Aquapalooza. That was a lot different than Sturgeon Bay to Milwaukee (120ish miles) in the 500. We slowed down to 10 knots outside of Sheboygan and cooked hotdogs for lunch. A much more pleasant trip! M

On our 280DA approx. 150+ miles, Jeykll Island GA to Deland FL, was wore slap out
