What happened to the current engine which has you thinking blown head gasket? Has the compression been checked? Is there any evidence of water in the oil? A repair of your current engine may be the cheapest way to go and wont require you to change the drive and any wiring. If the engine is beyond repair, then a replacement 3.0 will most likely be the cheapest way for the same reasons - be able to keep your current drive and electrics.

Rebuild it, thats not a hard job to do why spend the $$$$$$. Thats the cheapest way out.
