What in da hell?

Can someone please tell me what the little hole is for in the back of Mercruiser driveshaft housing? They even make a little plug for it when not in use. The plug for it is #31 in this picture.

That is so you can get to the allen head screw for the zinc tab.

ahaa thank you. My plug is gone. Wonder if that really keeps water from corroding the screw.

I just bought the plug and it was the cheapest thing I ever bought for a boat :grin:.
I ended up scraping barnacles out of this area which made it difficult to get the socket on the bolt for the zinc.
BTW on my bravo 3 the bolt is regular hex bolt.

the plug'll keep marine growth out for the most part - but it wont water-proof the bolt.
