What DON'T you like about your boat?

The head is designed for midgets who don't ever poop.

There could be a few more cupholders.

Other than that, it's great!

I don't like that:
There is no storage for the optional sunpad
I bump my head exiting the cabin if someone left the top slider less than fully open
I bump my head on the top of the head doorway
Everything gets wet in the head when I shower
I bump my head on the mirror when I spit out my toothpaste
I have to pull up the v-berth to access the cavernous storage under it
It does not have a generator
I can't fit all my fenders in the transom storage
There is no place to store the canvas except the midberth
My canvas leaks through the windshield in heavy weather and seas
My Blackberry almost got fried by a salt water drip while sitting on the galley counter once in heavy seas
I can't fit a big pan or dish in the galley sink
My fridge is too small
I can't keep ice cream cold enough to stay solid
The mattress is so thin
The cable throttles don't line up when my RPMs are syncronized
I can't get better than 1.3 mpg
I have to scrape barnicles and algea off my outdrives weekly

The list of what I like is at least 3x longer.

Two things...

1. 800gal fuel capacity (makes you want to cry at the fuel dock!)
2. I am too big to get to the shurflow head tank filter. Nobody of standard size would ever be able to get to it = design flaw IMO. Does anyone know a 90lb. super small mechanic that would like the joy of changing that particular filter? :wow:

I really can't think of anything else...

I love my 410da, except for:

1 - Cup Holders on dash for passengers are terrible. Must make sure guests use koolies so beer bottle does not fall out of cup holder.

2 - Forward head is too high for comfort. But, love seperate shower!

3 - There is storage space for salon table top under master berth, but no storage for table base. Unless I can't find it and somone can tell me where it is, and make my winter...

4 - Long uncomfortable reach to check oil level on generator.

Other than these few items, I love this boat! Would buy it again knowing about the above short comings.

Just one thing... the damn toilet paper gets soaked every time I take a shower...

Thank you 37 Dancer, that is the real thing I do not like about my boat, imagine mine is six feet shorter.... Friend of mine has a 40SB and dreams of 60footers...

My list is short- was very surprised at the amount of water leakage on the factory canvas that came with the boat. I can not leave the cockpit carpets in when I leave the boat. IF it rains, these get very wet. New camper top being installed this winter and ALL canvas is being redone. (Hope this changes things. The tech wants to do some work around the windshield area as well.)

Other than that, two small issues, no dedicated storage for the flat screen cockpit tv and I find the privacy blinds in the cabin to be a bit cheesy. Compared to the quality of the boat overall, these blinds miss the mark.

Don't know if this leak is the same as my 280 but have them check the seal on the bottom of the walk thru window. The 330 has a walk through windshield and the base is what leaks on mine. My dealer and I searched and searched for a long time, replaced alot of window sealant, gaskets before I finally found the problem. The gasket on the bottom of the windshield and the gelcoat leaks, and on mine is very very difficult to seal.

That is a major problem with any walk through windshields, they all leak and when it is leaking salt water on from bow splash and it gets on the carpets, it really makes a mess.

My list:

1) well see above
2) head to small
3) rear bed is a cave
4) when sitting at dinette, AC blows right on you and it is freezing
5) Dinette only sits 2 comfortably, don't know how anyone can get more than 2 in that location
6) Fuel tank is small
7) when sitting at helm, you can't see over the instruments panel unless you sit on the bolster when in the up position, very uncomfortable when on long distance trips
8) water inlet is too far in the aft storage and it difficult to attach
9) No power actuator for the engine compartment
10) toilet paper gets wet when you take a shower, and the dealer gave up on fixing that one.
11) and it is not a big enough.....well trying to take care of that currently with either a 32 or 34 or a Tiara Diesel......?

I am sure there are other complaints as well but these are just the ones I thought of right now off the top of my head.

Thanks- that is one area where we are focusing. The tech took several pictures close up of the walk thru- you can almost get the head of a pencil to slip through this area on both sides of the opening window. No question, rain is entering here and then travelling down the sides and ending up on the floor. I think we can add some addtional gasketing here to help, it will always leak some, but it literally pour in at this point.

The more concerning area, was the canvas itself- almost like it was not properly sealed at the factory- it would leak all over the dinette table in the cockpit.

Hoping the addtional gasket and the new canvas will solve most of this. My concept of a camper top, right or wrong, is that we should be able to sit under it in a rain and still enjoy being on the boat. Last summer, we could not. If it rained, we headed for home.

All really good stuff here! Maybe Jim should start a "whiners" section at CSR. All complaints sent directly to SR. My example......My 100K + express cruiser boat horn sounds like a wet fart. Can you spend 30 extra dollars to put in a real horn?...etc,etc. :)

My 420 sofa in the salon does not have enough padding,or dense enough padding. While watching TV the seat gets very uncomfortable. Other than that we love the boat!

I don't like...
-Top Speed, would like about 10 more Knots
-The Glare off of the Dash
-I have to go back and around to get to the front of the boat (no steps and open windshield)
-Wife complains that the windshield is eye level for her....I don't like the wife complaining.. windshield is fine

Maybe one or two more items but overall it's ALL Good!!!

minor nits: I wish it had the darker cherry cabinets instead of white; I wish the canvas was black instead of tan.
major issue: not enough time to spend on the boat. I guess that's not the boats fault...

Keith,

Why black vs tan? I'm getting ready to re-canvas and thought the black would be too hot in the sun. I picked Sunbrella's Heather Beige. It reminds me of a girl I....never mind. It is similar to the original. Thoughts?

No autopilot. Could add one for about 3G, but should probably do an electronics upgrade if I were to do that, which is more like 10G, so might as well do a boat upgrade instead. Maybe I'll need a slip on G dock, too. If not a space on G dock, then a spot six feet down when my wife finds out.

Best regards,
Frank

Love the boat, but...

- No house battery bank. Almost entire boat is wired to the starboard pair of batteries. This is a real problem being on the hook for the day. Gotta run the gennie to keep the batteries charged up.

- Whimpy horn.

- This is REALLY dumb: The aft deck roof (hard top) is designed to drain the rain water to the aft starboard corner which then pours on the swim platform below. Not really a problem except that that is exactly where the rear entry steps are. If its rainning when you arrive at the boat, you must walk through a water fall to get on the boat.

- Fuel economy (lack there of). Can't someone invent a 4 speed transmission for boats?

- Not enough fresh air circulation in the aft cabin. Gets real hot down there.

That exact logic train is what led me to upgrade to the 40....ran aground with a 320 at night in fog, no radar, no chartplotter......we must need a bigger boat with better electronics. Then once I had the 40 there's the whole diesel and bridge issue....It's a slippery slope....so far the wife hasn't looked TOO closely at my life insurance policy :smt038
