I know that most of us love our Sea Rays, but what DON'T you like about your boat?

Mine:

-All the cockpit seating is on the port side (except the captain's chair, which causes an unbalanced ride
- The canvas isn't tight to the inside of the arch, causing rainwater to come into the cockpit. Most of it drains, but some of it ends up under the port side midship bench, and causes mildew.
- Whoever owned it before me went batshit crazy with caulk on every hull seam. Now I have to peel it off and re-caulk.
- The accessories buttons. I prefer rocker switches.

But other than that, I love it...

The only thing I don't like about mine is that its not 11 feet bigger and called a 480 Sedan Bridge.

Honestly the only thing I do not like about my current boat is the abundance of canvas on the bridge.

The only thing that I don't like about my boat is the monthly payments to the bank! Nicky

I would have to say that I wish my mid cabin was usable as a sitting area like the newer boats. I would like to get up from the dinette after a meal and be able to go sit someplace and relax.

I would have to say the biggest thing I dislike about my boat is that the swim platform is to small. I am thinking about add to it to correct this issue.

It pumps overboard. Worst thing on the boat. A "cool mod" would be to put a thru hull just for the galley sink. That's what Viking does... and they have a garbage disposal on it as well.

Not being 7 feet longer and 5 feet wider.

Honestly not much. Once you get used to the 260's leaning and learn how to correct it it's an awesome entry level cruiser. And my galley sink drains directly overboard to boot.

Oh, i don't like the cockpit wetbar's storage. That space is useless. It's supposed to be for a cooler but no cooler of any respectable size would fit in there and the one that does in a pain to get in and out.

I like mine - it's the perfect size for what we're using it for and really like being able to trailer it. I'd like to have new cockpit upholstery and a larger swim platform - but it's nothing a few boat dollars can't fix!:smt101

minor nits: I wish it had the darker cherry cabinets instead of white; I wish the canvas was black instead of tan.
major issue: not enough time to spend on the boat. I guess that's not the boats fault...

2006 320.

  1. Very tight bilge.
  2. No drink holder for the person sitting next to the captain.
  3. Front bed cushions were too hard, I replaced with memory foam and now I think it will be too soft. Havent slept on it yet.
  4. Aft cabin bed too short. OK for a child or maybe a short grown-up. I'm 5.11 and cant lay straight on the bed.
  5. Ledge to hold aft cabin cushion is too small and cushion falls when turned into a bed. - summer project
  6. No air conditioning vent in the aft cabin. Aft cabin gets very cold while front berth is warm.
  7. AC vent in front berth is a fixed grill. Doesnt allow air to be redirected away from my face when sleeping.
  8. Water leak in the bathroom ran down a hose that filled the vacuum compartment under the cushions in the aft and ruined the vaccum. New BEAM replacement vacuum is 1 1/2 inches taller and doesnt fit. (original model discontinued). Need to do some modificatons.
  9. Clock on Microwave has to be reset evertime 110v power is interupted.
I hope this isnt going to get posted in the classified section ;-)

She's not a diesel.

The motors. They are great when they are running well, light and powerful enough, but parts are impossible to find, they seem to be high maintenance, and finicky.

I actually bought a complete used running engine just for future parts.

No Radar arch.
No decent drink holder at the helm
I don't like carpet in the cabin and may try and install hardwood or laminate floors in there.

Boat, slip & lake are near perfect. Only negative is she's 100 miles away thus we don't have the spontaneous boatings option that locals do. Needless to say we''re envious of those who can cast off their anchor of everyday life & be boating in mins vs our 3 hrs of prep, travel & setup. Moving closer is not a good option.

I really like my boat. Just what I needed....but

I would love to have a tower for watersports and board/ski storage!

I wish there was more room to get at the engine. specifically the waterpump!

-Location on the generator impeller. It takes the better part of a day to change it and after I'm done I need to see a Dr.!
-Cockpit sink faucet is totaly useless. You can't even wash your hands in it!
-The icemaker makes 4 cubes a day. I just pulled it out and I'm looking for a fridge to put in it's place.

Overall I'm very pleased with my boat! For a 98 model its holding up very well.
