What does everyone do for a living?

I have paid for my habit in the past by being a c level financial professional - CFO, controller etc. Got burned a year ago and tired of the depending on someone else for my living. Bought into a small trucking company. If it makes it past the next two weeks, the habit will continue to be supported.

Sugar mama (or so First Mate wishes!)

Truthfully, though: 15 years as System Implementation Consultant/Project Manager with a top-five hospital company here in the States, currently serving one of its IT subsidiaries, itself the number two healthcare IT provider. I like the work, I like most of the people, it's paid the bills and given a little money, PTO, and schedule flexibility to have a life beyond my corporate America cube!!!

I am a 3D animator and Artist for the last 18 years, I am also an entrepreneur of sorts. Owner in two retail stores and some investment property. I stay pretty busy most of the time. :smt024

Systems Security Engineer for a company contracted by the federal gov't

Started out in the studio at a local radio/tv operation in the mid 70s. Spent many years on the air doing just about every shift including a stint as a Top 40 morning man. "Early" Mark Burley was the handle with my cohort "The Hitman". I got smart and decided that being the guy who programs the music, hires and fires the jocks and runs the music scheduling would be a better and longer career path.

For the past 11 years I've been the Group Program Director for 22 radio stations in the Interior of British Columbia. I celebrate 40 years in the industry this October 1st.

Yes...you could say I am in "The Media" lol

Have the privilege of working with my wife, we own a cemetery memorial business. Do every thing from large civic memorial for veterans to pet markers. The company was started back in 1873, I am the seventh owner, have been working there for 36 years and I'm ready to sell and spend more time boating.

I've been accused of being a pilot but for those who know the lingo, I am listed in A006 of the Ops Specs for our company (70+ aircraft). I also tote a gun and badge for an agency and have done so for 18 years.

A006 means your management and with that fleet size......I think we work together....
Me, 27 years as a professional pilot (which also allows me to tote a gun and a badge through 50 states) all to pay for my boating habit.

You are correct on the A006 assignment. We don't work together though. A good friend of mine used to fly with you guys until a year or so ago. He LUV's his job now.

I am right with you on that one! Not worth the headaches being a small contractor these days.
