(and yes, mine is that yellow)

05 Lexus LX470: It is hot rod, station wagon, pick up truck and datemobile all in one.

A Lady I see noted on the first time she rode in it with the entire back end full of boat stuff including a dive gear, tools, wax, fuel cans etc., that my $80 grand SUV was little more than a working truck! I said hell, its not every guy that has a mobile garage!

I live in a condo and no garage and a big boat, so my Lexus is the Land Tender to Asureyez.:smt038

POS Audi Allroad. 52k miles. Third transmission.

Holy cow. I thought the quattro system was bulletproof. Are you getting new transmissions or is some clown rebuilding them?

How do you like the Lotus? That was another choice of mine for when the kids are all the f out.

Actually I love the Lotus.
The first week I had it I wanted to dump it. It's a lot of work to drive and the visibility is terrible. But then I took it to the grand opening of the new local Lotus/Bentley dealership and somehow changed my mind and now I love it and drive it almost every day.

That is probably why Sea Ray does all those dinearound/raft up type events.
They work.

so far the Lotus is fast, sexy, easy to service, and gets great gas mileage.
and the big surprise is the Range Rover has been a good car too.
consumer reports can stuff it. I love that Range Rover. :)

Hey! I have one of those folding trailers!

I was dragging it all over creation the last few weeks. . including a few mulch runs today. Although rated for a mere 1000 pounds, both times I was at AC Hesse on Rt 9, the scales claim I have been successfully haulling 1700 lbs of dirt.

You know. . .if the American car companies want me to actually ever buy another one of their cars. . they need to build a car (not SUV) that can actually tow my (puny) trailer(s). I ain't talking towing 280DA's. . .I am talking a 1/2 ton of dirt!

My experience is about the same as yours. Consumer Reports really should stick to appliances -- nothing bigger than a Maytag. My wife has a Jag that's been great during the lease term. It's been so good that I think I'm going to buy it and keep it. She loves the car. That and the IIHS rates is far, far better than the average car for actual real-world safety.

I have over 300,000 miles on my Navi. It's been reliable, cheap to run, performs well, and still is nice and tight. Was visiting friends in Dallas a few weeks ago. Their Honda minivan has a little more than half the mileage and and twice the squeaks and rattles. That's better quality? Consumers Report probably would say yes. Whatever

Harbor Freight Chi-com crap, but I've had it for 9years and its a workhorse. Bought the tractor used 8 years ago - it's a 1992. I had the mulch delivered (14 yards) and used the Craftsman to tow the trailer around the property dropping loads. Had two guys working with me. Have you ever seen a redneck farmer from Brooklyn? All I needed was a dog named Blue and a shotgun in the back. Good times...

That's what I thought. I agonized before going w/ Audi given their poor quality in the 90s. Spoke to a number of A6 (platform for the allroad) owners, forums etc and they seemed to have turned a corner. I like wagons, so my options were very narrow at the price point I wanted.

Took it in around 35k (still factory warranty) and complained the tranny felt wierd, had a few hard shifts and would search between 1st/2nd. Of course they say it is fine. A few months later (now out of factory warranty) they tell me it needs a full transmission replacement. I call AoA, they give me the run around.... my extended warranty gets involved. 40 days later, no units could be found so rebuilt my unit by a great mechanic. Seriously, read on.

A year later, now at 51k, sounds like I have a bad wheel bearing on a sunday. I call make and appt to get it looked at on tuesday. Monday driving to work, it gets louder, than Bang!

Flat towed into the shop. It is the differential that is built into the side of the transmission case so a fully remanufactured unit is sent out from the extended warranty company from God knows where. The actual tranny that was rebuilt a year ago was fine but the differential was toast and they insisted on a reman trannie from their own source rather than paying my mechanic to rebuild the differential on the side of the transmission case.

Never will I own an Audi again, primarily due to the treatment I got from AoA when I had complained prior to factory warranty coverage expiring.

16k in repairs between the two issues, but 90% extended warranty.
