What do you drive?

This is my weekend vehicle. I'm thinking about trading it in for something that emits less greenhouse gasses.

Let's see...

Wife - '07 Expedition
Me - '06 Mustang GT Conv.
Toy - '74 Bronco - fully restored
Towing - '00 Excursion V10 4x4 - has spark plugs and good brakes - but at least no head gasket problems...
Soon to get - 2000 Explorer with only 26k miles - be a good first vehicle for my daughter when she's ready

Alex - 2,000 lbs? Wouldn't you say more like 1,300. (Could be less than that realworld unless your wife packs the boat for a trip like mine does!)

I think of my QX56 like a truck as it is built on the Titan truck frame in the same Mississippi assembly plant. I'll definitely give you the stopping part - When it was bone stock, the brakes did not do a good job at all. But, I have upgraded to custom heavy-duty slotted and cross-dimpled rotors with ceramic pads and now can bring it down to zero on that perverbial dime as well. When not towing, these brakes are almost too good.

 Anyway, you have a great truck there.

2006 Dodge Durango SLT Wife's car (except when towing the boat)
2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 Door (mine)

Helped to have an uncle that works for Chrysler, not sure it will help much now!

Not trying to get in a pissing match here. Once you drive a diesel and tow with a diesel gas just seems insufficient. I'm sure many will attest to this on this board. My original comment was meant as a joke and i am sorry if it offended you. You drive a very nice vehicle as well and i'm sure it pulls you boat great.

In regards to the 2000lbs is was a quick number i spit out. I can assume you have looked up or know the exact weight difference since you were pretty specific with the 1300lbs.

I drive an 07 Acura MDX
Wife is in an 08 Honda Odyssey
but this is my favorite..

Alex, I see you are in Columbus. I am a Buckeye. And we both love boats. 26' Sea Rays to be exact. And we both tow our boats around. We are almost brothers, my friend!

I am sorry if I started us off on the wrong foot - truck-wise. Sometimes I get a little thin-skinned about trucks due to my southern buddies razing about driving a "jap-mobile" and it comes out. As a mechanically-bent anal-retentive, I absolutely respect the wonders and capabilities of the diesel engine.

..........
Wife – 2008 Nissan Altima Hybrid 20K miles averaging 35 MPG, Great car and it is a rocket (0 -60 in 6 seconds)

Wife? What ? ...when? ......did I miss something?

Here is my next truck (later this year, doing my part to help the economy):
